In a digital camcorder and video editing software prices falling all the time, you do not have to make a Roman Polanski movie right now. VIDEOSTUDIO Ulead software is at the forefront of budget video market for some time now and this latest release promises more value for hard-up consumers who are looking to make a music video, movie or make a clean house documentary film about their lives.
This application will look good on paper, with a number of new tools for working with HD media, as well as assembly templates, video effects and filters, and get the tool. There are three distinct applications bundled with the suite, catering for different needs and skill levels, including the Movie Wizard and DV-to-DVD Wizard. However, the main utility, VIDEOSTUDIO Editor, where all the action happens.
This program offers some decent editing features, including storyboards and expanded to see this scene (in addition to timeline everywhere), an extra scene of the preview window, customizable template and the title text, audio tracks for voice narration and music scores, and built-in point plays to fit the length of your movie. The user interface is not too bad a job to make all of the features easy to enter, but it is still virgin film producers time to understand the basics.
No doubt with a little practice, you can conjure up some decent looking creations in the package, but you encountered some setbacks along the way. The main problem with VIDEOSTUDIO is always a strain on your system memory and unfortunately it does not seem to be dealt with properly in this version. Is cripplingly slow load time and unless you use a complex computer editing preview NASA can be a terrifying experience, with audio clips and leaping and falling frequently.
Other disorders include the fact that you can not fast forward and rewind the scene of the preview window, and zoom facility on the timeline is almost not strong enough. Surprisingly, given the support for the new HD disc formats, Ulead apparently neglected to include support for Blu-Ray as well. Another thing worth mentioning is that the user can press the Softonic some very poor technical support, with many people report that their requests are always answered. Come on Ulead, if you bring a program that sometimes falls over then at least give the customer a little help to put things right.
Despite the lack of, VIDEOSTUDIO has enough features to allow the creation of the video is very sophisticated, and it's pretty easy to use once you're familiar with the interface. However, if you're looking for reliability then you can better than to see one of the budget editing in other applications such as Adobe Premiere Elements or PowerDirector.
